🎯 Technique of the Week
Turtle Attack: Crucifix from North-South Position
Instructor: Professor Raul Montolfo
Master the crucifix attack from the turtle position. This technique demonstrates how to transition from a defensive turtle position into a dominant crucifix control, using precise grips and leverage to secure the position. Perfect for controlling opponents and setting up multiple submission opportunities.
Key Points:
- Start in turtle position; attack the crucifix from north-south turtle posture
- Open up your elbows to create space
- Use an arm drag; pull opponent's arm to your left side
- Bring left knee inside to increase leverage; put heavy pressure on opponent's hips
- Grab and control the wrist
- Right leg opens up; hook their arm
- Go for collar control
- Push off with your toes to initiate a roll
- Once rolled, switch your leg positioning and continue pulling to secure control
